Background:
Morgan McKinley is a global recruitment firm with offices across Asia-Pacific, the UK, and Ireland. Our IT strategy emphasizes leveraging cloud-based applications and infrastructure to enhance performance, data accessibility, and reporting throughout the organization.

Our Business Intelligence (BI) and System Integration group, part of the IT department, plays a critical role in developing, rolling out, and supporting Business Intelligence reporting. These reports range from Board-level and Finance insights to team and individual-level transactional data. Reporting solutions are delivered via scheduled Excel reports, Salesforce dashboards, and BI tools like MicroStrategy. The team also supports ad hoc reporting as needed.

The BI Developer role will work extensively with Salesforce and BI tools, such as MicroStrategy, to deliver insightful and actionable reports. The ideal candidate will also contribute to data modeling, warehouse maintenance, and overall BI strategy.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop Salesforce reports and dashboards tailored to business needs.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports in MicroStrategy and other BI tools.
  • Independently gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into actionable reports and insights.
  • Build and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and views for various reporting needs.
  • Manage report-level security and data access within Salesforce, MicroStrategy, and other BI platforms.
  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency through validation between source systems, data marts, and data warehouses.
  • Support the development of data warehouse ETL processes from various data sources (e.g., SQL, REST APIs, CSV, SOAP).
  • Troubleshoot BI tool issues and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments (Recruitment, HR, Finance, Marketing) to understand and fulfill business reporting needs.
  • Stay updated on emerging BI tools, techniques, and Salesforce innovations to propose and implement improvements.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in Salesforce reporting and dashboard creation.
  • Hands-on experience with MicroStrategy for creating and managing reports and dashboards.
  • Proficiency in SQL scripting, including stored procedures and views, using tools like MySQL, SSMS, and SSIS.
  • Strong knowledge of BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Qlik, or Business Objects (in addition to MicroStrategy).
  • Familiarity with data modeling techniques and data warehouse design principles.
  • Ability to work with and transform data from various sources (e.g., SQL, REST APIs, CSV, SOAP).
  • Strong communication skills to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills:

  • Familiarity with PHP, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or basic web reporting technologies (not essential).
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Scripts, or AWS environments.
  • Understanding of Recruitment, HR, Finance, or Marketing processes and how BI supports them.
