Morgan McKinley UK COO, David Leithead, climbed Europe's highest mountain Mont Blanc, as part of the MMK Million, raising money for our charity partner, Bliss.
Over the 5 day trip, David, with his climbing partner and a guide, first climbed the tallest mountain in Italy, called the Gran Paradiso, and then made the most of a good weather window to tackle Mont Blanc.
The climb has some challenging sections between 3,000m and 4,000m but there are often cables and ropes to help. After overnighting in the Gouter hut at 4,000m the ascent to the summit is a long and steep walk sometimes on narrow and exposed ridges, but otherwise not too tricky and amazing to do it as the sun rises over the clouds below!
Reflecting on this challenge, David said "it was a great experience, although I might try and keep my feet on normal ground for my next fundraising activity!".
