Tuesday 14th February 2017, the Strategy team at Morgan Mckinley endeavoured to raise money for Lou’s Place; our chosen charity in Sydney, by holding a speed dating singles night.
We started by finding an excellent venue in Tipple Bar, centrally located offering great Beers, Food and what was described as “the perfect” Espresso Martini.
We had a great venue and a plan of attack. Tickets were set to sell at $35 per person, which included a drink and guaranteed meeting of a monopoly of Sydney Singletons. We hustled our incredibly generous clients and contacts for raffle prizes to raise some extra money, these included:
With a little bit of last minute panic on numbers, we finally pulled it all together. By my own admittance, there were a few glitches on the format of the evening, but luckily and thankfully the crowd were in good spirits and understanding of these....
James Lawrence took to the stage to offer up a paid Back Wax raising an extra $350 for the cause.
All in all, it was a great night, there was romance, raffles, laughter, many mistakes but most importantly we raised $3600 for Lou’s Place.
We would like to thank everyone who turned up and made it a great evening. We will be posting out the much awaited results imminently.
I'll leave you with an interesting Cosmopolitan article I recently found on speed dating.
