Morgan McKinley Hong Kong embarked on a 5-hour hike and tree-planting journey on Saturday 6th June, to mark the World Environment Day which was on June 5th, with a local charity called HandsOn Hong Kong. Morgan McKinley planted no less than 50 trees to help fight pollution in Hong Kong, under the leadership of our APAC COO Richie Holliday, an ex-army nature lover.
The day started with a one-hour educational Q&A and brainstorming session led by a nature expert. The session was very informative and covered the benefits of having trees in Hong Kong, which included:
After the Q&A session, we all carried our saplings, hand shovels and fertilizers, and each of us climbed up the very steep hill of Mui Wo under the unbearable 33 °C heat to plant the trees on top of the hill.
The view from the flowering mountains overlooking Silvermine Bay Beach was breathtaking and really worth the effort. This great event gave me the opportunity to mingle with my colleagues and share some laughs and stories throughout the journey.
