Earlier this week my colleague and I represented Morgan McKinley in attending the In-House Recruitment Expo hosted at London’s Kensington Olympia.
The event provided companies with the opportunity to exhibit recruitment products and services to a vast range of companies who currently have in-house recruitment services. In addition to this, the event programme showcased a timetable of guest speakers throughout the day.
A stand out presentation to me was care of Johnny Campbell, Chief Sourcing “Ninja” at Social Talent. His presentation focused on why passive candidates don’t get back to you and how to make sure they do. I was already a huge fan Johnny Campbell’s webinars and this talk really got me thinking. We also watched presentations on the use of video technologies in the recruitment process. I felt particularly proud as this is something which Morgan McKinley already utilises for sourcing candidates interested in getting into recruitment or candidates who are looking to relocate to the UK.
Another recurring theme that came to light was the importance and value of employee referral programmes. Here at Morgan McKinley we are literally days away from launching our lucrative internal referral programme for 2015, following the success of our campaign in 2014. We have and continue to, source many quality candidates through our existing employees and we are seeing the benefits of this programme extend throughout the business.
The expo also highlighted the importance of a strong brand message, mission, purpose and values which I am again pleased to say the Morgan McKinley currently have in place and are very proud of. We live and breathe these messages, missions and values everyday in the way that we deal with candidates, clients and each other.
The expo was brilliant and I look forward to the opportunity to attend future events. I came away feeling that Morgan McKinley were in a really positive position for a successful 2015... watch this space!
