Morgan McKinley Hong Kong has committed to taking part in regular Power Blood sessions in support of the MMK Million fundraising.
Each month until the end of the year, a group of ten employees in the office will volunteer to donate blood to people in need.
Morgan McKinley has chosen to partner with Hong Kong Red Cross for this initiative. Blood collected or the components of blood are then used to treat patients with medical conditions such as anaemia, cancer blood disorders, and those having surgery.
The first session started last Friday, with two groups of five employees going to two different blood donation centres. The screening process was quite thorough with the volunteers filling in four pages of information on their background and were tested on their hemoglobin level first, to make sure the minimum level required was met.
It was great to see the big support of the volunteers. It turned out to be a very successful event as we were able to spread this new initiative across the office and as a result attracted a few first time donors!
