Christmas at Morgan McKinley

It’s that time of year where we all get a little festive, and I thought it would be the perfect time to tell you how well about just how well Morgan McKinley know how to throw a Christmas Party.

Friday the 12th marked our annual festivities and what a night it was!

All five UK offices made their way down to the stunning Grand Hotel in Brighton where we checked into our rooms and got dressed in all our finery. We made our way down to the champagne reception for 6pm. I was truly in awe looking around the room at the men all donned in tuxedo’s and the women in beautiful dresses – a testament to our theme of the night, ‘Glitz and Glamour’.

At 7pm we made our way through to the ballroom, which was decorated beautifully, with festivities, crackers and party favours at each place setting. We were also joined by some special guests who came all the way from our Ireland office; Aldagh McDonogh our Transformation Director, Kieran Rossiter our CFO, Brian Murphy CCO and Pat Fitzgerad our CEO.

After a brief welcome speech from Gerald Fitzgerald our COO, we announced the winner of our year long, £5,000, dream bigger campaign, where every staff member who had referred someone into the business had their name put into a hat. The winner was the gorgeous Eva Mazuchova who was handed a giant cheque and announced that she was heading straight to Chanel to treat herself! Dinner was then served and it was delicious! A three course menu which we had chosen in advance, I opted for the salmon to start, followed by the turkey and chocolate pudding, washed down with a lovely white.

Dessert was interrupted by a flash mob from our London office who performed Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance with Gerald Fitzgerald coming out as a werewolf at the end, giving us a great rendition of the moonwalk! This marked the start of the Morgan McKinley X Factor competition where we had some great acts including a Rock and Roll duo, an acoustic set and a rap act to name a few. The winner was Natalie MuCullough who got up on her own and sang “All about the Bass”, amazingly I might add. We all danced our way through the evening, stopping to take a few snaps in the fun photobooth and top up our drinks, of course! I hear that the final partygoers went to bed at around 5:30am, which means we were beaten by the Irish Christmas party who stayed up until 6:30am.....we tried!

Everyone had a delicious cooked breakfast before checking out and getting back on the coaches to their offices looking a little less glamorous than they had done a few hours before. All in all it was a brilliant night, I thoroughly enjoyed my first Morgan McKinley Christmas Party and I am already looking forward to our Summer Party in 2015.

I would love to hear what you think of our Christmas party and how it compared with yours?
